We regret that some medical issues have decreed that we will not be able to process sales, issue certificates or receive items that clients wish to sell at this time.

We can offer opinions, with written certificates, on the genuineness of stamps and postal history related material from the Latin American countries. These are (alphabetically) Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Salvador, Uruguay and Venezuela

Stamps or other philatelic material submitted for opinions can be sent to us by registered post to the following address

If sending from outside the EU area then please add "VAT No. GB 231855860" to the outside of the package and declare the contents as "documents for expertisation" and "no commercial value".  Please put a note inside the envelope stating "For expertisation purposes only and not for sale – to be returned to the sender with the relevant opinions"

If you prefer to send your submitted material by a courier service then please contact us in the first instance to get a street address for delivery and to check that we are available to receive the package

There are no forms to complete. Just make sure that you include your name, address and full contact details such as telephone number and email address when you send the submitted item or items

Please note that items are submitted are at the owner's sole risk and that we do not accept any liability for any loss or damage however it may have been caused. The owners of submitted material are strongly advised to arrange insurance cover against all possible risks including loss or damage in transit

We do not accept any liability for any opinion we have expressed. It is simply our opinion of the genuineness or otherwise at the time that the item was submitted. This opinion is, however, based upon 40 years full time continuous experience in handling Latin American stamps and postal history material !

Submitted items will be returned to the sender with the relevant opinions by Royal Mail "Tracked & Traced" or "International Recorded Delivery" services. If you prefer to have your submitted items returned by a courier service then this will be by Federal Express

We do usually offer a fairly quick service and most items we receive are dealt with and are on their way back to the owner within a two-week period. There are, of course, some exceptions such as holiday periods or during the course of International exhibitions or other such events. Please feel free to check in advance if your submitted item is particularly time sensitive ! 


Costs for certificates can and do vary dependent upon the amount of work that is necessary to reach an opinion. Most certificates that we issue are charged in the £25.00 to £50.00 range plus return postage or shipping costs

To give some examples, the charge for a certificate for a basic single stamp is around £25.00. Overprinted or surcharged stamps are around £30.00. A basic cover is around £30.00 and an overprinted, surcharged or bisected stampa on cover are around £35.00. Blocks or multiples would carry a small premium on single stamps and a similar rule of thumb applies to multiple frankings on cover

If something is likely to cost more than the £50.00 figure quoted above then we would advise the owner before proceeding

We can also offer to enhance certificates with other relevant information where possible. Such information might include plating positions for some single stamps or multiples, postal rates for some covers or provenance information for some more well-known pieces. If this service is of interest then please advise when submitting the item or items.

Please note that all prices are subject to 20% VAT where applicable

Payment methods

The easiest method is by credit card. We can accept MasterCard, Visa or American Express. For the fastest service, please include card details with the shipment. We require the full card number, the expiry date, the CVV code and the billing name and address for the card

We will advise the total amount due when the relevant certificates have been prepared. Full payment is due prior to shipping unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance

We can also accept payment by bank draft or cheque / check in either British Pounds or in US Dollars. If you wish to pay in US Dollars then please ask for the total due in that currency

Similarly, we can accept payment by bank transfer in either British Pounds or in US Dollars. Please ask for details of how to make these payments

Finally, we can also accept payment by PayPal to our email address but any PayPal payments must be made in British Pounds and are subject to a 4% surcharge to cover the PayPal charges
